The Unterlinden Museum is a museum supported by an association located in the Alsatian city of Colmar (Haut Rhin) and is the second most visited Fine Art museum in France, after the Louvre (220.000 visitors/year).
It has been managed since 150 years by the company Schongauer which has a financial and administrative autonomy and enjoys the label “Museum Of France” controlled by the Departement of French Museums.
Around the cloister of the 13th century unfold collections from the 15th to 18th century. The most famous work, the Issenheim Altarpiece, has found its place in the former monastery church.
